1) How did you choose your wedding colours/theme? 

 

Our theme was ocean view and our colour scheme was sea foam green(mint dresses from TDY), blue, lavender and cream. Ben and I both love being by the sea and have both grown up swimming, surfing and boogie boarding in the sea. Our venue was Sneem Hotel In Ireland which overlooks the inlet of the sea so we felt this was very appropriate for us. 

 

 

 

 

 

2) How long did you have to plan your wedding and was it enough time?

 

We had 18 months to plan our wedding and felt that this was more than enough time. If anything a little less time would have been nice as there were a lot of things we couldn’t do until closer to the date. 

 

 

 

 

 

 3) What was your favourite part of the wedding planning process?

 

Our favourite part of wedding planning strangely enough was writing the invitations as we did this one evening together whilst having a good ole chat about how excited we were with a Chinese takeaway and some wine. We did also really enjoy choosing the music as we would sit up listening to our favourite music from when we were younger and it paid off as we didn’t have a second without a full dance floor.

 

 

 

 

 

 

4) What was the best moment of your wedding day?

 

This is quite a difficult one as we were so fortunate to have the best day. As cheesy as it sounds it really was the best day of our lives. I suppose my best moment was walking down the aisle to see Bens face. He was so calm but when he saw me he broke down it tears. It was a very special moment for me(he’s not a crier so it was very unexpected).

 

 

 

 

 

 

5) We’re really honoured that we got to be a part of your special day! Why did you choose Thedaintyard?

 

We chose Thedaintyard as the dresses were exactly what we were looking for at an incredibly reasonable price. I wanted my bridesmaids to all feel comfortable on the day. They all have different heights and sizes and TDY dresses were perfect as the same dress was so flattering on all of my bridesmaids. I had one bridesmaid who is 6 feet tall and a size 10, second bridesmaid is 5 feet 2” and a size 8-10 and my maid of honour is 5 feet 3” and a size 12-14. All of them wore the same size dress and they all looked incredible. So pleased we chose Thedaintyard.

 

 

 

6) What advice would you give to other bride’s planning their wedding? 

 

My advice to other brides would be to do exactly what you want and plan the wedding you want! It’s so difficult(believe me I know) when you have so many people telling you what you should do and what other people expect, but that day is all for you and your partner. We had a lot of external pressure. Being Irish my family is pretty huge. We had a starting list of 600+ people to attend but we didn’t want a huge affair. We wanted it to be about us and the people we love and care about. We managed to get the list down to 170 people(incredibly small for an Irish wedding) and had a lot of people say we were selfish for doing it. On the day, however, we were able to chat to everyone and we were able to ensure the guests that were there felt special And appreciate for being so special In our lives. That’s not to say if you want a huge wedding, definitely go for it! People will obviously tell you they had a great time at your wedding one way or another but the true reason people will have an incredible day is to know you genuinely loved your own day and did what you wanted. That way you will never have any regrets.
